On December 21st 2016 Fondazione Prada inaugurated the "Osservatorio" in Milan. This space is dedicated to photography and visual language and is situated on the fifth and sixth floor of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in a historic building completely restored by Fondazione Prada.
Busnelli participated in the project providing the design, production, siting and installation of the glass and steel facade and of the staircase in metallic carpentry.
The glass and steel facade is composed by no-transom high windows, whose Secco Sistemi thermal-break profiles are welded both externally and internally in order to obtain an elegant and lean glass facade without obstacle to the view. Accordingly, through the windows it is possible to see the glass and steel covering of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, that is often nicknamed "il salotto di Milano (Milan's drawing room").
The staircase in metallic carpentry which links the two floors was entirely designed, produced and installed by our company. The metalwork of the inside staircase supports the railings in micro perforated galvanic steel, the steel treads and the stainless steel handrail. To fulfil the esthetic requirements issued by the client all components were custom-made in our production center. The final product was manufactured from steel tubes and shaped using a laser cutting system.
