STEEL WINDOWS AND SHOPFRONTS WITH HIGH ACOUSTIC AND THERMAL PERFORMANCE

In the heart of Milan, in Piazza Missori, Vetreria Busnelli carried out the manufacture and installation of 900 steel windows, together with the ground-floor shopfronts, as part of the renovation of a high-end hotel.

In a hotel of this calibre, guest comfort is a fundamental requirement, particularly when it comes to ensuring a good night's sleep in a particularly challenging urban environment. The building's central location, with the underground railway line running beneath it, made acoustic insulation one of the most critical aspects of the project, while thermal performance also remained a key priority.

The challenge required careful research to identify the most suitable technical solution, through the selection of steel window systems and glazing capable of meeting the demanding performance requirements. This was complemented by a detailed study of the installation details and the junctions between the new windows and the existing masonry. This was a particularly delicate aspect of the refurbishment, requiring the integration of new technologies with the building's existing construction.

The project also included the manufacture and installation of the ground-floor shopfronts, carried out while the hotel remained operational. This required careful planning of the works and precise coordination of the installation phases to minimise disruption to the hotel's day-to-day operations.

The result is a complete set of windows and shopfronts designed to meet the project's requirements, combining high levels of acoustic and thermal insulation in the window systems with careful architectural integration into the existing building.

The client's full satisfaction confirmed the effectiveness of the solutions adopted and Busnelli's ability to deliver complex projects by combining technical expertise, precision in execution and close attention to the specific requirements of each project.
