Prestigious redevelopment and conservative restoration project in the centre of Milan involving the former headquarters of Credito Italiano, also called Palazzo Broggi after the architect who built it in 1901. 55,000 square metres of new retail space, offices, a panoramic restaurant, a bar in the bank's old vault and a series of scenic gardens created in the existing courtyards: thus THE MEDELAN was born.
The Medelan covers a 7,000 square metre block overlooking Piazza Cordusio, Via Broletto, Via Protaso, Via Tommaso Grossi with a reference to a different architecture on each elevation.
Busnelli was called upon to replace and realise the new window and door frames and curtain walls respecting the existing architecture and the ambitious aesthetic and performance requirements of the client and the designers.
A total of 900 bronze-effect painted galvanised steel windows and doors with Secco Sistemi OS275 minimal profile were realised, covering a total of 4,200 square metres. The solution for the insulating glazing, also made by Busnelli, fell on the choice of a solar control and high acoustic performance solution made possible by the use of Planitherm Infinity glass from the Saint-Gobain brand.
