SHOPFRONTS, STEEL FRAMES, FAÇADES AND ANTIQUED BRASS CLADDING

For Gate Central, designed by ACPV ARCHITECTS – Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and located in Milan’s historic city centre, Vetreria Busnelli carried out the manufacture and installation of a comprehensive range of bespoke steel, glass and antiqued brass elements, developed to complement the building’s architectural language.

The scope of work included shopfronts, steel frames, façades, entrance doors, gates, balustrades and antiqued brass reveals, designed to meet the project’s functional and aesthetic requirements, with particular attention to construction accuracy and the quality of the finishes.

Particular care was devoted to the engineering of the construction details, with the aim of eliminating visible fixings and ensuring precise alignments and material continuity with the Ceppo di Gré stone cladding. Coordinating the different components required careful consideration of the interfaces and strict control of dimensional tolerances.

One of the most significant aspects of the project was the junction between the frame, reveal and balustrade, developed to achieve a clean, seamless integration. The balustrade, characterised by a lightweight, linear design, is laterally anchored to the reveal using concealed fixing systems and suspended at its lower edge. The reveal, in turn, connects with the frame and stone cladding, creating a harmonious composition in which each element contributes to the continuity of the architectural design.

The result is a composition in which the material richness of the stone, the warm tones of antiqued brass and the transparency of glass interact through carefully engineered details that minimise the visibility of fixings. At The Gate, the quality of the work is expressed above all through the precision of the junctions, the care taken with the finishes and the integration of different materials.
