As part of the Angst project in Bordighera, dedicated to the development of luxury residences, Vetreria Busnelli oversaw the detailed design, technical development and manufacture of the entire steel-and-glass extension, delivering an integrated, bespoke solution in close collaboration with the architects.
The system features minimalist steel windows and doors, characterised by slender profiles and clean, essential lines, designed to maximise transparency and enhance the relationship between the architecture and the glazed surfaces. Given the exposure to the marine environment, the profiles were treated with a C4-H corrosion protection coating system, specifically designed to ensure high durability in aggressive environmental conditions.
The considerable height of the window units required an in-depth assessment of profile sections and system stiffness to ensure adequate structural rigidity and stability. To meet these requirements, custom-designed external steel mullions were engineered and manufactured, fully integrated with the window system. In addition to defining the façade's architectural rhythm, these elements serve specific functional purposes: they support the solar shading system and accommodate and conceal its motors, preserving the clean, uncluttered appearance of the building envelope.
The glazed conservatory, designed to enclose residential spaces, was developed with particular attention to the thermal and acoustic performance of the building envelope. The design incorporates solutions aimed at achieving high levels of thermal and acoustic insulation, essential to ensuring comfort within the living spaces.
The intervention forms part of a wider project featuring additional works by Vetreria Busnelli, including bioclimatic conservatories, glazed roofing systems, windows and doors, shopfronts and dormer windows. These works demonstrate the company's ability to develop technically complex steel-and-glass systems, coordinating every stage from design and manufacturing through to installation.
This project exemplifies Vetreria Busnelli's approach to prestigious architectural developments: expertise in metal fabrication, rigorous performance assessment, meticulous attention to construction details and bespoke solutions tailored to the specific architectural and functional requirements of each project.
