The pyramid is placed at the entrance of a 800 seats auditorium placed underground. The squared pyramid with a side of ten meters, six meters high, constitutes the auditorium entrance and first sight image, covering also the function of covering.
The pyramid's glazed shingle is supported by isostatic network of glazed beams designed to follow the movements of the concrete slab where the pyramid lays in case of the failure of the beams ,the structure becomes hyperstatic and experiences a few millimeters movement that allows to replace the damaged beam.
People coming from the park enter the auditorium walking through the transparent pyramidal covering and go down to the foyer using the spiral-shaped stairs or the panoramic lift.
Three stainless steel mullions support the stairs and the elevator shaft. The mullions are connected to the helical stringboard which manages to sustain loads and overloads coming from the step, the landing and the parapets.
A double spiral shape is composed by the external stringboard, realized un order to use the cooperation existing between stainless steel elements and parapets' crystals with the aim to limit the strains produced by the stairs' loads.
The structure carpentry has been built up in laboratory where it was possible to take care of the quality of the finishing, realized with stainless steel press-formed panels and custom made calendared.
The steps and the landings are composed by extra-bright crystal and tempered panels, strengthened and stratified with plastic Dupont SG, while the elevator's cylindrical elements and the parapets are curved, strengthened, tempered and stratified with PVB.
